Selling tires and rim before surrendering for repossession?

What will happen, is this okay? My brother is going to change it to a cheaper and smaller rim and tire before surrendering. Can he do that? What will be the problem, he filed for bankruptcy so I don't think he really cares about credit report and any judgement. As he said he included it on his bankruptcy. My husband want to buy the rim and tire for our car, will this be a problem?
 
Yes he can change the tire (s) and rim (s) out. Just as long as there are tires on the car before being repossessed. And no your hubby won't get into trouble.
 
Here's the question. What rims were on it when he financed it? My opinion is that he should return the car with the same or similar rims. That is what the finance company is expecting. So if he got the car with factory aluminum rims and put on Foose rims, then he can return it with factory aluminum rims, but should not return it with cheap steel rims.
