...re: smog, etc. if I sell? 134 K miles, well maintained up to now. Car not running and my mechanic says to "Walk away" b/c repairs will be $1000+, for starters.New radiator, body is in fair shape. Someone is interested in buying it, depending on what I'm asking for it. What value should I place on it? How do I handle my responsibility to have it smogged prior to selling? Are there other things I am responsible for, if I sell it? It's had trouble passing smog the past two times and I would disclose that. But, I don't want to take responsibility for disclosing everything that might be wrong w/ when the head gasket blew b/c I don't know, completely. I am a pretty much a stand up person and act with integrity. I will disclose all that I know b/c don't want to "dump" anything on a potential buyer. But, I also don't want the buyer to come back at me claiming that the car was more damaged than I said it was. Would it be better, all around, to just pull the plug and donate? Any ideas would be most appreciated. Thanks.
