so I was one of the early adopters of the lg chocolate phone on verizon. Im really unhappy with my phone and im considering selling it on ebay to get another one. A phone that looks good to me is the k1m.
My dillema:
chocolate has terrible battery life. Seems it spends more time on the charger than it does on my hip. FORGET IT if you plan on ever playing a game or making a phone call. Extended battery made a huge difference so now it went from abysmal to pathetic.
Battery low warning is stupid. Doesnt come on till you have 1 minute talk time or 5 minute standby time, beeps every 20 seconds and brings the display to full brightness every time it beeps for 15 making it suck the life to nil giving you no hope or chance.
Reception is terrible. almost impossible to get more than 2 bars signal. My girlfriend has an old motorolla (on verizon as well) and no matter where she goes she has 2 bars or more over me. I get poor reception and drop calls in my house and in my work.
Speakerphone might as well not be there. Speakers too dinky for as loud as it goes, and what it does is far from loud. Sounds like my friends are talking to me through a kazoo.
ive had the phone for maybe 3 1/2 months. Was really a cool phone at first, and I look really cool... Till I drop the call
When I have atleast 1 bar the call quality is just great. Period. Sounds great. Problem is getting that 1 bar sometimes.
I NEED a phone thats:
small
has a decent camera
has great reception and call quality.
decent battery life
can browse the web
id like a phone that:
has java capabilities for games/apps.
has a minisd slot for expandability
has atleast a little sleek cool factor. Big and dumb excluded.
Wont require a loan or limb sale to afford.
I could give a crap if my phone: Gets vcast, or plays mp3s. I use my cars cd player or a portable mp3 cd player if need be.
I dont need it for a portable pc so a blackberry type device is wasteful for me, I dont care for a qwerty keyboard.
So I think I could sell my choc and go k1m on ebay and I could be maybe out 50-75 bux.
Anyone have any ideas/thoughts/concerns/alternate suggestions?
What do people think about the durability of their krazrs? reception? are they overly delicate?
