Self raising flour to make a roux for fish pie?

I've just been out and bought my ingrediants for the fish pie i'm about to make, but i've just realised that i only have self-raising flour? Is it going to make a huge amount of difference or will it be ok? Thanks
 
It might work but you would be better off going back out and getting all purpose flour. Since your only using it for a roux it might not make too big a difference.
 
Any wheat flour contains sufficient starch to thicken the roux sauce eg strong, wholemeal, etc
