and voting whether to act or not on global warming--scientists or the politicians currently holding office? And why?

I personally would rather have scientists in DC debating the issue and deciding whether or not we should act on it. I would hazard a guess that climate scientists know more about climate scientists than politicians.

This of course did not happen. For some reason Dr. Jello has found himself in error.

If I remember correctly Hansen got some funding from the Heinz Foundation, not Kerry's political campaigm. Neither Kerry nor his wife have any control over the Foundation.

well, maybe, but, of course, we here know way more than scientists multiplied by politicians.
in fact, we really think that God should come around sometimes, and ask for our advice.

I would rather have politicians that read the constitution and learn the limits of their power. Without that, we will move toward a totalitarian state but that doesn't bother your side at all, I have noticed.
 
Rather than the rats in DC debating this issue, I would like to see scientists on both sides debating this before an impartial panel of judges.

Politicians are precisely what turns me against this issue. Whereas, this may be a genuine problem, I have trouble believing a politician who only seeks to turn this to his own advantage.

A whole new field of science has spawned, and relies on fear mongering for funding. And, if it turns out to be debunked, what happens to the brilliant minds that were suckered into this field of study? You guys will be flipping burgers with your useless degrees.

look at the proponents of AGW and see if you can guess why we are so set against this topic.
 
The problem of AGW was caused by the sloppy failed peer review system used today for most non-critical scientific publication. This allows those whose work is not up to the stricter scientific method to get published anyway if their work supports a politically correct position. So unless some assumption, hypothesis or theory has been verified by the scientific method it can not be trusted to be real or scientific. There have been a lot of things that have killed or injured millions that passed peer review/ Chernobyl after all was passed by peer review while later examination through scientific method showed the basic problems that caused the failure.
