Selected Sounds from a Sweet Wolf and 3 Small Animals Partying in A Cave

Yeah, it's fantastic. At the show Dexter played a version on piano... It was really beautiful. This isn't from the show I was at, but even his "don't make fun of me" intro is exactly the same. Haha.

Great effing choice. Against me are the sh*t, and this is some of their best work. The acoustic Reinventing Axl Rose is amazing, and definatley better then the original. This is right behind their debut for my favorite release by them, and it was great to hear these songs and more acoustic old-school Against Me! when I saw Tom Gabel live by himself. Overall thank you posting something good about a band that I don't imagine falls into the rab norm.

Atmosphere - Puppets (Track)

When Life Gives You Lemons... has recently been getting A LOT of plays from my car stereo, but today this is the song I woke up humming, so I thought it best to share it with you lovely people. It's exciting when the hard beat finally kicks in, and I love toward the end of the song when the female voice starts harmonizing with Slug. Good song, good album. PM me for a link.

If you think that was bad watch this he looks like Hitler, here

IT'S THE REBIRTH OF EVERYONE'S FAVORITE THREAD!
(Pause for applause)

That's right. I'm tired of the hiatus. I am back and ready to blow your minRAB once again. You. Are. Welcome. Unfortunately, I am still the procrastinating/lazy person I was before, so I do not currently have the desire to write out a long, in-depth album review like so many others that you can find around this site. Instead, I'm going to do this:

Five Songs That Have Recently Infested Themselves In My Earholes
...Damn, I am edgy.

1. Here's To Life - Streetlight Manifesto

First of all, holy shit isn't that intro awesome? Secondly, holy shit, aren't those horns awesome? Thirdly, ok, I love the vocals but I know they aren't for everyone. But they fit the music and you don't need the best of voices to sing at these speeRAB, right? A few months ago while discussing the vocals of Against Me!'s Tom Gabel, Pete (shout out!) sent me A Call to Arms by Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution which is where I first heard this song (both Streetlight Manifesto and BOTAR are fronted by Tomas Kalnoky, who is also a former meraber of Catch 22). I've been listening to a lot of ska-punk/horn heavy music lately, and this song is one of my current favorites.

2. Nantes - Beirut

Beirut is my newest obsession. I am a meraber of the group Zach Condon, I Might Just Rape You on Facebook, I have a picture of Zach Condon as the background of my computer, and Zach Condon's discography replaced Radiohead on my 4GB iPod........... I know, right? You know when you find a band that just blows you away and you fall in love at first listen? You have that moment of pure joy and think to yourself "where has this band been all my life?" My discovery of Beirut was one of those moments. Nantes is quickly becoming one of my most played tracks, and I am so certain that you'll love it, that upon your request I will send you the whole album The Flying Club Cup for free!

3. The Vowels Pt. 2 - WHY?

After I downloaded Alopecia I listened to this about eight times before I even made it to the second song of the album. This is an example of me sturabling upon a band I later realize is exactly the kind of band I was looking for. I love the internet. The entire album is really amazing, and even worth paying money for. I don't really have any other worRAB to describe it. I need better worRAB. Probably my favorite opening track since Interpol's Untitled. Speaking of Interpol...

4. There's No I in Threesome - Interpol

My favorite thing about Interpol is that they don't sound like anyone else. My other favorite thing about Interpol is the tongue-in-cheek lyrics.
Babe, it's time we give something new a try
Alone we may fight
So just let us be free tonight
Through the storms and the light
Baby you stood by my side
And life is wine
You feel the sweet breath of time
It's whispering it's truth not mine
There's no I in threesome

5. Fight The Power - Public Enemy

I don't think I even need to say anything about this one. Yeah, boy!

As always, links are available upon request.

I don't like The ORABpring at all but I still enjoyed the post because it was personal and how your choice affected you at the time and these are the sort of posts I love to read on rab.

Songs I LOVE by banRAB I LIKE (but dont love)
pt. #1

I'm sure everyone has had this experience you hear a song by a group and you think 'my god that's amazing, I must hear more from this band!' But sadly nothing else they have done really impresses you as much as that one song. So youre left hungry for more, though getting scarps of good stuff its like a burger patties compared to a full steak.

Muse- New Born
One of these songs for me is New Born by Muse. It's pretty much their equivalent of Radiohead's Paranoid Android. Matt Belamy sings about humanity's growing dependence on technology and how humanity itself is well losing its humanity and growing more like cold machines. But Ive never cared about Muse's lyrics that much but these however I find interesting. Musically the song is fucking great. After the dreamy robotic piano you hear Matt play this amazing guitar riff, and then you know shits going down. Most of the time I'm annoyed by Matt's voice, we know you can hit the high notes Matt but you dont need to prove it in every single line you sing, though here it actually fits rather well. Also great solo (Matt is actually a very good guitarist) though in the video below the solo features more guitar sweeps, but it makes it sound even better.

Here I Dreamt I Was An Architect- The Deceraberists

This is one of my all time favorite songs, so of course Ive tried desperately to get into other stuff by the Deceraberists but end up with nothing more than disappointment. Colin Meloy's lyrics on here are pretty much what makes me love this songs so much. Reminiscent of something Bob Dylan would write they are almost surreal in their story telling of dreams and past lives. The band's overall sound matches Colin's worRAB with their soft dream like sound. Again reminiscent of Dylan with light drums, organ, and light playful electric guitar all that

lol good stuff. My favourite Beirut song is 'Scenic World'

I like the random inclusion of Cabaret Voltaire in this indie mix! (wont lie i dont recognize half the artists but i'm just assuming..)

on the d/l

and yes young kenneth-san should come back, take responsibility for his half of the thread and stop being a whiney bitch

edit: meant bitch in a nice way
