This is pretty cool news. It would be nice to see a new CGI Sonic series and I'm quite sure that they'll at least try to work on that. Sonic is SEGA's most recognizable character and there is potential for another good series for the franchise.
Am I the only one who feels the current design is a much more full figured, flexible design than the old, pudgy, silly looking design of the Genesis era?

(see the Sega Sammy logo in the upper right corner). It's been a unit of SSG since 2005). Which is probably why I'm not super-duper optimistic about the impact of CGI on the Japanese animation industry like the rest of you are. It's fun, but I doubt it's a savior. Just sayin'
Also, CGI's not "the inevitable future" nor will it become the mainstream of televised animation. Because everything comes back to basics. Plus, it's too damned time-consuming for episodic television.
does this mean will get night of the werehog on DVD? also I wonder if SEGA would work with Archie to make a series based on the Comics, Or with dic/Cookie jar to make a modern version of Satam or AOSTH.
