Security Key icon comes on with no alarm!

The Security key icon keeps coming on when I am in stop & go traffic. I have a 2007 FLHX. I do not have a security system installed on my motorcycle. Any idea why may be causing this? It goes off as soon as I am able to gain cruising speed.

mine has done that once but the next time I started the bike it was back to normal

There is a procedure for checking codes, or you can go to the Dealer. Mine did that when I was having an intermittent short with my engine kill switch wire in my right grip. It would also blow a fuse and kill my engine.

I don't have a security system but the dealer says that is also considered somewhat of a "Check Engine" light like cars have when there is something wrong with a sensor.

One of your sensors is throwing a code. Search for Diagnostic codes and you will find the procedure for checking it.

you didn't by chance just add LED lights or anything like that did you? I've heard of those making the alarm light go on.

Mine did that when I added LED lights and had a bad load equalizer. A new one fixed the problem.

I haven't installed any new lights. The only thing I have really changed was I removed the antenna and went to a wireless one and installed the module up inside the fairing. I will see if I can get the codes downloaded. I wasn't sure if the hot weather was causing this or not. It doesn't seem to do it on the cooler days. It's really weird.
