Security bug on Android Xperia X10i?

Hi everybody

I am happy Sony Xperia X10i owner, just got that awesome device last weekend. But now I have uncomfortable feeling. I have plugged the device into my PC via USB cable and the PC runs Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx.

So, the reason why I see the security issue is that I am able to see all my data directly from memory card. Even the mail attachments (Moxier) were available for copying without any protection. Practically everyone who use my phone is able to read my mail attachement :/

Does my fancy new Android make me like paranoid =)

Cheers!

Hi muurola and welcome to the AC forums.

You can't access the files unless you tell the phone to mount the drive. You can't do that unless you have access to the notification bar. Someone else can't access the notification bar unless they can get through your pattern lock. You do have this basic security feature turned on right?

If the data is on your SD card they could also just remove it and use a card reader to copy the files off it, but the solution to this and the above is to not let someone else get hold of your phone.
