Securing her spot as a nominee for the Jerk of the Year award, Shirley Nagel of Grosse Pointe, Michigan drove children to tears on Halloween when she refused to hand out candy to "Obama supporters, liars, tricksters or kids of supporters." Nagel actually had the nerve to turn little kids away empty-handed if they preferred Barack Obama (who Nagel deems "scary") to John McCain, showing little sympathy for the tykes who left her doorstep in tears. "Oh well," Nagel said, "Everybody has a choice." Yes they do, Shirley, and the choices you've made speak more about you than the innocent kids who were just exercising their right to have opinions, beliefs, and minds of their own. Next year, just leave your damn light off and keep your sour sweets to yourself. [CBS]
