secure laptop carrier

Does anyone know where I can get a secure, lockable laptop carrier for my C50T? I want to be able to secure it to my bike, so I won't have to worry about theft when I leave the bike for an hour. My laptop is a 17" screen.

With the weather being the way it is, I never even considered one. I was able to obtain a nice Targas (lifetime warranty) backpack which works great.

Leaving it on the bike might be too much a temptation for those with no scruples.

Same here. I carry mine to work everyday. If I have to go into a store, then so does my laptop. I too have a targus bag. I have had the same bag now for 5 years, and it has survived everything from being thrown from a helicopter (laptop wasn't inside) to surviving 2 freakin hurricanes. I use that bag for everything...

I use a nice $80 laptop case and 3 bungee cords to attach it to my sissy bar on the M50. It sits real snug on the passenger seat against the bar. I wouldn't leave it on the bike though, weather does real odd things at times (10 min. random rainstorms) not to mention anybody walking by looking at a free laptop...

Reminds me of the time I went to visit a client in Modesto 150 miles away, and took the bike. I was carrying the laptop in a backpack bungied to the sissy-bar. Kind of like this:

Anyway, I arrived at my client's meeting without the pack and knew it was gone for good. I didn't see it along the road on the way home. About 3-days later I got a call from a guy who had found the computer and looked up my number. I got it back intact. So, that was the end of my bungie cord days.

Tuesday I went to the Bay Area on a client trip. My computer carrying is a bit upgraded now.

I carry my laptop in a padded backpack (not in my saddle bags or bungeed on.) I have a laptop security cable, so I could lock it to the bike, but I don't, I take it with me (it's in a backpack so it's easy to carry.) I use the security lock when I am at Panera Bread, library and other places when I want to go get a drink refill or use the restroom, otherwise someone I trust is left looking after my laptop. It's not the cost of the machine so much as the pain in the neck of setting up a new one and recreating any data since my last backup!
