I want to take a poll fo those of you that ride a second passenger...do they complain about how uncomfortable it is? I use to have Gixers and my wife never complained but ever since I got my Ducati 848 she can never stop complaining about how uncomfortable it is. Post up your experience and please no nonsense silly answers.

yes,
I told my wife that I was going to get a Bipostal set up for my bike, that way she could go on rides with me...
but she said "Don't bother, I would rather stay home if you take the Duc"...
So instead I ride My Kawasaki ZRX1200r when she feels like going on a ride....

this bike is Super compfy

as a chic, i've ridden on the back of ducs and gsxr, i can't stand ducs either. the position is horrible and you are almost always leaning into the driver. the position is so bad and the pegs make your knees high, that it's just so uncomfortable. i haven't packed anyone on my 848 because of that.

you have to ask?.... Ducati should stop putting the darn black piece of cardboard on the back of their superbikes...

any women that says the back seat on these things doesn't suck.. well.. marry her.. that's love..
asking yer girl to sit on the back of an 848 or 1098 for a ride... well it's like asking her for a three-some.... the idea's great... but the answer is already known... like i said... if she does say yes... she's a keeper...

One of my gfs rode for a few entire days on the back of the 1098 and she loved it. When I have a passanger I ride very slow and consistent on my speeds, I convinced her that it was safe to hold the strap. She didnt move much and just held the strap no issues. She said it was really nice being so high up and the seat was comfortable, my gf is also a cheerleader and weighs probably 105# max.

I did (marry her that is). My wife would prefer to ride her F4i but has her days where she wants to just take the 848 and never a compliant out of her. Something that helps is she puts her hands on the tank to hold on. It keeps her in position and takes the pressure off my wrists.

They aren't even comfortable for the rider, much less the passenger. If you want comfy passenger seat, you bought the wrong bike. And taking a poll isn't going to help a bit. It's not like the results will make your wifes ass hurt less. I find my wife can go on the 1098 for a quick jaunt for an ice cream cone or out for dinner. But for a serious ride, I go alone. If we want to do a decent afternoon ride 2 up, it's time to choose a different bike.

ended up taking off the pegs, etc...and gettin a single seat compliance plate
and registering as a single seater...the pillion seat just doesnt make any sense
(apart from the fact that my partner ...if i want to carry him...is twice my size...130kg...and he would have me wheelstanding around town if he was on the back...wtf)
registration/ins is cheaper too
hands on the tank is the way to go on a ducati..if a pillion...remember this from back in the day....
