What are the most common seat insert ideas and where do people usually gets the inserts from ?

I used about a dozen layers of some leftover laminate flooring underlayment. It's high-density memory foam rubber. You want to be careful to not use something too soft.

Buttbuffer also makes a pad filled with a dry polymer that does a pretty good job and can be inserted under the seat cover or used as a pad over the seat.
