I've been riding a fixed gear for quite some time now and it's great for commuting distances under 20 miles. However, now I'm looking for a bicycle for some real riding and I need some help.
What should I do before buying a bike, aside from research, what are some real details that I should pay attention to?
I'm 6'0 175lbs, does that mean that I require a 58cm frame?
Or does my leg length and other things come in to factor?
What are the pro's and con's for a carbon frame?
If not a carbon frame, then what?
Anything else you consider useful when purchasing a road bike.
Lastly, what is the reputation of Felt, Cervelo, Specialized and Scott?
As I'm looking into these brands and more, feel free to suggest!!
So far I really like the Scott CR1 and Trek Madone, but I havn't seen either in real life. Yet.
Cheers.
