Se7en Question

It's been a while since I've seen it but
I don't think he was supposed to be decomposed - just very emaciated. He was kept alive for a whole year without any food, ate his own tongue and had his hand cut off but I'm not sure what the hospital meant by saying his brain had 'turned to mush' (meaning I'm not sure if that could physically happen or it was just another way of describing his mental condition).

Just how I saw it though :)
 
Maybe we're supposed to think that
septicaemia or gangrene had set in. Gangrene is common with amputated limbs (although I think that has more of a black appearance on the skin) and from what I remember of the movie, Sloth was kept alive by using a cocktail of drugs too so that could have caused some blood poisoning
- or maybe it's just artistic license :)
 
Se7en is a great movie,highly influential even.But man does it wallow in self pity more than is needed (even for the dark subject material).

The more times you watch it,the more you notice.The amount of times they talk about being in such of horrible city.:rolleyes:
 
Why the hate for Saw? The original is an excellent thriller,with horror influences and a great twist.It's definitely heavily influenced by Se7en and The Cube.It certainly has some dodgy acting,I'll agree with that.

Se7en has it's flaws and cliches,but I was gripped by it nevertheless.I feel it's too bleak at times (as I mentioned),but it's influence on film and television is obvious.

I didn't like Waz one little bit.I thought the characters were all nasty to core.I felt the story became more preposterous as it developed,with a climax that I didn't buy for one minute,even if it was fairly original.It upped the gore,but didn't give me a character to care about or an intriguing plot.It also painted an even bleaker picture than Se7en.
 
I don't hate SAW, it's a fairly entertaining horror/thriller that's decent enough. I even enjoy Cary Elwes's horrendous acting when I watch it now :p
