SE W810i or K790?

I'm looking to get a Rogers Wireless contract and can't decide on whether to get the Sony Ericsson W810i or the K790. What benefits does the K790 have over the W810i besides the better camera? Also, is it true that the W810i comes with a 1gb card if you get it at Rogers, whereas the K790 comes with nothing?
 
ok, w810, for the price is a far bettr phone than the k790. k790 is tri-band whereas w810 is quad-band. evrything else is near identical apart from the cam. Though the w810 cam is decent enough. Also battery life is a tad longerwith the w810.
However w810 does nto have bt 2.0 so bt wireless stero headsets dont work with it, but the k790 does. But thats a minor problem....w810 wins handsdown
 
Damn! The black one isn't available for sale online at Rogers. Just the white one. I'd have to buy it in-store, which means no $50 Futureshop gift card.

Oh and does the W810i come with the 1gb card? It says that it does on the Rogers site, but it could be a typo.
 
um... no it's not...

k790a is given from rogers, and it is the american version, meaning it includes the necessary 850, and 1900mhz band to use for Canada. So triband means nothing for that. Where in canada would you ever use the 900 and 1800 band? you could have a dual-band phone of just 850 and 1900 and reception will still be the same as a quadband 850 900 1800 1900.
 
Not necessarily. Reception depends on make and model of the phone.
Generally nokia has the best reception.

But what he may have meant was that with a quadband phone you can travel worldwide with it?

Whereas triband, not so much...
 
yeh worldwide use, thats probably what cellswholesale meant, k790 might feel a lil bit bettr in the hand, but i would still prefer w810 since k790 is on the chunky side and that little cam shutter gets annoying in the pocket!!
 
I used my W810i for 6 months and loved it. But it has come time to upgrade to the K790a. I just wanted a new candybar phone and the K790a was it. I was looking at the updated SE UI, QVGA screen, 3.2 MP camera, Xenon flash, and uniqueness of the phone. I have not seen anybody with it so it will be cool to have a more special phone.
 
ya, i've contemplated this upgrade as well, but can't currently justify the cost. Did you sell your w810? how much did you get out of it if you did?
 
it depends on what features you need the most a mp3 player(w810i) or a digital camera (k790)... id go for the k790 because nobody barely has it in the u.s. anyway you look at it your picking between a lambo and a ferrari.
