Arg, this is driving me insane! Whenever I make a decision for one, the factors of the others make me think otherwise.

Basically, it boils down to this (Besides the obvious advantages of the camera and such):

Prices are given with tax included.

Sony Ericsson K790a
Price: Approx. $470.00 CAD (Sony Store)
Pros: 850mhz + Edge. Simple interface.
Cons: None really.

Sony Ericsson K800i
Price: $440.00 Flat (Canada Computers in Pacific Mall)
Pros: Price! + Extra camera (I know you can't use it, but its nice to have) Simple interface.
Cons: Lacks 850mhz and Edge.

Sony Ericsson K800i Silver
Price: Approx. $530.00 (SN Traders)
Pros: It's a limited edition silver k800! Need I say more. . Simple interface.
Cons: Costs about $80.00+ more then the regular k800i + Lacks 850mhz and Edge

Nokia N73
Price: $580.00 (Canada Computers in Pacific Mall)
Pros: Smartphone, Smartphone, Smartphone! Love the interface and the big screen.
Cons: Pricey + Lacks WiFi!

I'm aiming towards the N73, but what turns me away is that it lacks WiFi. In my opinion, a smartphone should have WiFi. Plus, its rather pricey. That then boils me down to the Sony Ericssons.

I already own a w300i. I love the SE interfaces, and I'm planning to possibly get an HBH-DS970 set for the new SE phone (would this work on the N73?!). So, it comes down to the k800i silver. Nice phone , but is it really worth $80.00 more then the K800i Black - just for the colour?! 'Kay fine, I'm aiming for the K800i Black now. Great pricing and great phone, but it's lacking the 850mhz. I'll just get the k790a from Sony then. But.. I might regret not having the Symbian interface.

And the cycle continues. I've been looking at SE threads, Nokia threads, SE vs. Nokia threads, and everything in between. I know there's several of k800 v. n73 threads out there, but plus offer your opinion on my situation! Thank you guys so much!

Go for either the K790a or the N73. It's not like you'd be getting wifi if you didn't go with the N73, so that shouldn't really make a difference. It all boils down to whether or not you want a better camera or series 60.

It's pointless to get the K800i because of the second camera and unless you really like the silver, then there's no point in paying extra for it

I know I wouldn't be getting WiFi in any situation, but thanks for your input . I guess it would be a $100 dollar difference for the k790a and n73. I did have the n80 in the mix before though - for the WiFi. But that option got eliminated because of the battery life and the interface speed (according to many MANY reports and reviews). But, it can always make a comeback, somehow. Heh.

Would it be possible to use the HBH-DS970 on the n73? I know the n73 supports bluetooth, but I haven't been able to find a site that paired the two together yet.

hey bro, im in the same situation....for me its between the k790a, n73, n80 and 8525!!!! im going insane....everytime i rule one out, another one makes a comeback

I think $470 is ridiculously overpriced for a K790a..
Unlocking this phone costs around $70 I believe and new ones go for around $300 in the b/s/t forum. Savings of about $100 and theres no tax
Oh and go for the K790a

I was in the same boat. But I went for the N73...i had a w800 before and i found nokia's more reliable...but w800 had a wsod after 2 months and the camera was broken. That kinda turned me away from SE. and the n73 is less bulky and slicker. The k800 sits thick in my jean pocket. and the last thing I need is a bulge in my right thigh.

but then again, the k800 got a better flash.

K790a for the win. I find S60 phones too slow for my liking. The SE UI is great. Day shots the N73 and K790a are close but in night time the K790a really wins thanks to the Xenon Flash. Plus SE phones handle JAVA apps/games better in my opinion. N73 wins on expandability with S60 programs and is pretty much endless supply of software that can do any thing. It is essentially a mini computer. I don't need that in a phone so the K790a wins for me.
