Se 120r complete engine?

Dont forget to take 20% off retail if you order the complete crate motor or the kit and the cases from LSHD, Chicago HD, Zanotti's etc. You likely could do the 120R for 3200 less than the 124

ChicagoHD stopped giving the 20% discount for the crate motor. It's like a $150 discount now on crate motors. That was posted a few pages back. Or maybe it was on v-twinforums.

Regardless, you could get the same discount on alot of the components I listed. Though the quality of the components just isn't as great as the aftermarket stuff. For example, you could use the SE 4.625" crank and rods assembly for $1000, or the S&S that's been trued and welded at Darkhorse with beefy H-Beam Con Rods for $2100 More expensive for the parts, yes. But more likely to hold up too.

Here's sourcing most of the components from the Screaming Eagle catalog, and applying a 20% discount.

SE Pro Crankcase assembly ........ $600 - 20% = ... $480
SE 4.625" crank & Rod Assembly .. $1250 - 20% = .. $1000
SE 4.060" cylinders .............. $440 - 20% = ... $352
SE 4.060" pistons, forged ........ $320 - 20% = ... $184
SE Throttle Body ................. $450 - 20% = ... $360
SE Intake Manifold ................ $90 - 20% = .... $72
SE High Flow Fuel Injectors ...... $140 - 20% = ... $112
SE Pushrods ...................... $165 - 20% = ... $132
S&S Pushrod Covers ................................. $70
SE MVA Heads..................... $1400 - 20% = .. $1120
SE 257 Cam ....................... $300 - 20% = ... $240
SE Roller Rockers ................ $470 - 20% = ... $376
Various Gaskets (estimating) ...................... $160
Parts Total .............................................. $4658

Assembly by a competent engine builder .. $1500 (rough guess)
Dyno Tune ................................ $300

Total in the bike and running ................. $6458

-OR- make it real simple. This should be identical to the SE120R in function.

SE Pro 120ci Race Kit ........... $4700 - 20% = .. $3760 (P/N 92500001 in the catalog, includes all of the above)
SE Pro Crankcase assembly ........ $600 - 20% = ... $480
Subtract Supertuner ............. -$400 - 20% = .. -$320 (wasn't included in other builds. Could sell it on Ebay)
Parts Total .............................................. $3920

Assembly by a competent engine builder .. $1500 (rough guess)
Dyno Tune ................................ $300

Total in the bike and running ................. $5720

Just waiting. Break in on the motor came up the other day when I was getting my bike tuned. How would you do it? I have a guy that will run it in on a dyno but dont know about his methods. How would you run it in?

When you sell your old motor on ebay, what kind of paper work goes along with it for the numbers? Might be trouble trying to register at RMV......

When you purchase a crate motor form HD, SS etc you get paperwork an a certificate of authenticity? Just asking..

First thing the state cops did back in the day was check motor number and VIN if no match up with paper work, go directly to jail.

Thats why I asked the question, you want to buy a used motor off ebay , better make sure you can register it with no problems at RMV. As most will tell you in my state the RMV is a giant nightmare ....

My riding buddy has an 09 SG. At 331 miles he had the local dealer install a Jim's 131" engine with Wood F9 cam and a 158mm throttlebody. Installed Boarzilla exhaust and an aftermarket clutch. Cost him slightly less that $10K. He already had a TTS tuner. Dyno'd at 144 torque and 139 HP. He has several thousand miles on it and it runs great in town and on the road. He sold his stock motor for $3500, so net is about $6500. It was done in about a week. It goes like hell and he's in his low 70's!
