SD Card & Application Installation

Hi all,

I recently did the update to Froyo on my MyTouch Slide.

I now noticed under Settings > Manage Applications > there is a tab for SD Card

How can I transfer some of my installed market applications to the SD card, or download future applications to the SD card?

I'd like to clear up some of the space on my phone's memory as I am already getting max capacity messages. (I had to clear out some apps just to have enough room to install the Froyo update!)

Any help is most appreciated!

Thanks in advance---

You will need ROOT to do this. To have root, you must rollback your device and install an earlier firmware. After that, there are ROMs with froyo you can download. I don't suggest just jumping into something like this though... You will want to read a good deal of threads on what to do and what not to do. There is always a chance you can brick your device if you don't follow the directions properly...

Here is a thread you can brush up on regarding the process you would have to go through to root the mytouch slide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1025336

That really only pertains to your phone... and only right now. A developer may find a way to root the new froyo release, but for now - they only have the earlier version rooted

It really does open up new possibilities for your device. Have you decided on root or not? ?

Ideally, I'd like my phone rooted so that I can 1) move apps to my SD card, and 2) delete the pre-installed apps that I don't use. But I am too concerned about messing up my phone LOL. I suppose I can wait...
