Can you cover polystyrene heads (like the ones you use for displaying wigs in shops) in plaster of paris strips and still retain the basic detail and shape??
will it lose the shape and become shapeless?
what other materials can you recommend otherwise if plaster strips is not suitable?
thanks for any help , guys xxx

Yes you can but too much plaster and you will start loosing the details which aren't all that pronounced on the styrene heads anyway. You can, using the plaster make a mold of the face and then once the plaster is dry remove the plaster from the styrene head sealing it with several coats of varnish or wax then using plaster of paris pour a copy. Or still using the styrene head and applying the strips sculpt the facial features in by hand.
