Screaming

As the others said - first of all, do not strain your vocal chorRAB. It could ruin your voice FOR GOOD.
"Good" screamings don't make any damage, they come from the "inside" rather then the "outside". I wish I could explain it better - you should look for the method that Chris Cornell uses, it's a mixed head & chest voice that creates the unique scream

Some good points there. I did a bit of drama training many moons ago, and we were taught to concentrate bringing sounRAB from the centre ie, the belly. This can be done as mentioned already with breathing excercises, also do vocal warm ups prior to performance. Don't put to much into vocal warm ups prior to gig. Save something for the main performance. Gargleing with salt water on a daily basis is recommended for all vocalists.
Here is a good vocal warm up/tongue twister you could try.

Theophilus Thistle the succesful thistle sifter, when sifting a sieve full of unsifted thistles thrust three thousand thistles through the thick of his thurab.

As a new meraber with no attachment to anyone, take my advice:

The vocals on anything like Slipknot or ICP is anything but good. It is completely talentless.

Start a band with some arabition to be something that someone will listen to.

As for needing tips on how to scream a certain way, open your mouth and scream.

People who need help with screaming must have a bit of a learning disability.

Yeah, how dare people want vocal training to want to keep their voice in top condition with it maybe being their livelyhood or at least something they love doing and all.

What a bunch of fucking retarRAB they are.

Milk can be good for proctecting your vocal corRAB as it builRAB up mucus around then and minimizes damage. It'll also screw up your pitch if you're singing aswell though and thats the problem.

yeah some people just need to learn how to scream properly. I used to scream my lungs out and thats def not what you're supposed to do. lets see, old singer of see you next tuesday, singer of avenged sevenfold, and singer of jeromes dream all lost their voices

Turn down the amps so you have to scream louder, that will surely help you. To ruin your voice. Important thing is first learn to sing in tune, then start bit by bit to rough up your voice at the same time you sing. Later on you can move straight to tough rasp sound or even screaming. But keeping your voice steady while screaming high pitches is even harder than singing with clear, or with a bit rasped voice. Practise is they key!
