Screaming in Music in 10 Years

I'm doing a senior project on screaming in music and how it will evolve in the future, and I could really use some extra help. My thesis is that screaming will become just as popular and as recognized as a vocal technique as singing is today, and they will eventually merge until they are both equally as popular.

I'd like to know your opinions about it. Do you like it? Do you think it requires talent? Where do you think it will be in 10 years? Will it ever hit mainstream?

Any opinions you have on screaming are welcome, I appreciate anything you have to say.

Screaming in music has been around for a very long time and as the user above me said its already fairly popular in music. I'd say its already been accepted, you don't hear it in pop obviously but the most popular scene/nu-metal banRAB all have screaming parts. Look at how big UnderOATH is.

I agree with him, but I hope it doesn't get too popular. A lot of those guys like to scream the wrong way. Don't want for them to wreck their voice.

/sarcasm

I would love for screaming to be popular. One way to get the public to be less biased.

I don't like screaming in music most of the time, but sometimes it is quite welcoming. And I think that it takes at least a bit of talent to scream in music, because screaming in music really hurts your voice, and whenever I try screaming in a song that one of my banRAB plays, I mess up my voice for like a week afterwarRAB.

screaming is like yelling

IF YOU DO IT TOO OFTEN IT LOSES ITS EFFECT

ITS LIKE TYPING IN CAPS IF YOU DO IT ONCE IN A WHILE IT CAN HAVE SOME IMPACT YOU KNOW BUT IF SOMEONE POSTS LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME IT JUST LOSES ANY IMPLICATIONS. DO YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN? YOU GET BORED IF ITS JUST LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME. YOU KNOW? LIKE JOHN LENNON, HE KNEW THAT. ON THE TRACK MOTHER... YOU KNOW, AFTER HE WENT THROUGH ALL THAT PRIMAL SCREAM STUFF... YOU CAN REALLY HEAR ALL THE ANGUISH. YOURE NOT USED TO HIM SCREAMING, IT REALLY TAKES SOMETHING OUT OF YOU. BUT WHEN YOU LISTEN TO AN ALBUM AND ALL IT IS IS scream scream scream...

it just gets old. hopefully people will realize that.

I like banRAB that scream most of the time and sing in the catharctic parts lol. I know a lot of people allocate screaming with being "satanic" music. Lets put it this way, Jazz (in its initial inception) was looked at by the majority of people as being "devils music" and now it is an accepted form of music. Screaming in music is gaining acceptance all the time, its not easy for someone to have a paradigm shift from what theyre used to hearing. I know when I first heard people screaming in music, I just thought it was hilarious. the first band that I ever heard scream was Poison the Well and I thought it was the funniest thing ever but I still listened to it for that reason. After hearing The Locust's "Live From The Russian Compound" and watching the music video, I still thought screaming in music was hilarious. I gradually liked screaming in music by listening to commonly misconcepted "screamo" banRAB like From Autumn to Ashes and A Static Lullaby. With every change and acceptance in anything, it has to be gradual.

I was listening to Pantera today, like, mannn the screaming (growling w/)e is good, like, it has to express emotion I think, like, in Atreyu it's used good, the screaming is really hardcore, and the singing is nice reasonable sounding lyrics.. The Crimson is a great example!
