Scream 4

Haha, well I had a dream about this movie the other day. I explicitly remember it being called "Scream 4". Had nothing to do with the first films except it starred Sarah Michelle Gellar (yes, she died in Scream 2). It was about a giant robot that set fire to people. And all the main characters made a big metal shell to protect themselves from a bomb the robot was making. At the end the robot set fire to the bomb around the people in the metal shell, and the ground turned into a volcano, then the robot walked into it, picked up the shell with the people and threw it into the sky. The movie ended there.

WEIRDEST DREAM EVER!!!

I don't belive there is anything official to say a fourth Scream film is coming. Everything that has previously been released has been exposed as unsubstantiated rumours.

To be honest, I don't even know how they would even do a Scream 4. Scream 3 wrapped the whole storyline up so neatly, I don't know how you would add another film into that. The idea of a straight-forward copycat seems a bit simplistic, and would be a bit of a weak link the existing films. A prequel wouldn't really work either. It was never Wes Craven's intention to have a Scream 4, so maybe that is why they deliberately made it almost impossible to add another film into the existing storyline?

I really liked the Scream Trilogy (even if Scream 3 was noticably weaker in comparison to the other two). However I just don't see how Scream 4 could be made to fit in with what has gone before. Perhaps it would be better left alone.

Yeah, while I would love to see a Scream 4 (which wasn't like my dream), it would have to be damn good.

I read a rumour somewhere that the movie was planned to begin with the killer returning and killing Sydney at the very beginning of the movie. Not sure if I liked that idea (then again, there's so many times you can survive being attacked, lol)

I don't think their will be a scream four in the future, I cant see it getting together all the three main actors {Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette} have all moved on to different projects. Scream 4 if it did happen would go straight to Video because many films who have passed a trilodgy e.g American Pie.

I would hate for Scream 4 to be realised and flop at the boxoffice.

And to be fair, that's probably what would happen. Perhaps the only way there could be another Scream film, is if in 20 years or so, someone decided to attempt a re-make, or re-imagining of the original film. However it is far too early for that. I stand by what I said yesterday - leave it well alone.

He actually made it very possible to have a sequel. At the end the door opens which basically is symbolic of the door being left open for a sequel.

It could revolve around a second killer from 3 I mean some of the stuff Roman did he couldn't have done on his own

In terms of the open door, I agree that it was symbolic, but I viewed it within the context of the movies. Sydney had been terrorised on three separate occasions. However now - because of what was revealed at the final showdown, the nightmare is now over, and she feels safe enough to leave the door open. I think it was symbolic in that respect, rather than the door being left open for a sequel.

The door thing was symbolic in terms of Sydney not being afraid anymore, the whole movie trilogy was her afraid and running away seeking help but now she's developed and can stand up to it.

I say the first three were awesome (I think 3 was very good, as unpopular as that view may be) so I wouldn't want a new set of three to ruin that...

I don't see the door bit as symbolic of that.Note the last worRAB

Kincaid:Sidney come on were about to make/watch a movie
Sidney:What
Kincaid:wait and see

This is the sort of stuff Stab and Romans thing was built on

Even if they were willing to come back, as previously discussed, it would be more or less impossible to tie the film into the previously established continuity. Add in the fact the three principle characters (Dewey, Gale, and Sidney) can't go through another killing spree without one of them actually being killed. It just wouldn't be realistic. However I don't see them killing off a major character (they were pushing their luck killing off Randy and Cotton who were borderline major characters). There's just too many problems to make it work, even if the cast were willing.

I really do think their could be a 4th film, but I don't think Wes Craven would get involved nor will the original actors and i think it will go straight to DVD but i don't know.
