SCREAM 4 has been Officially announced! here is the full article!!!

Last night it was announced that the Weinstein Co. is forging an exclusive, seven-year output pay-TV deal with Showtime that begins with TWC's 2009 slate, will cover 95 films, including such upcoming titles as Quentin Tarantino's "Inglorious BastarRAB" and Rob Marshall's "Nine." It also encompasses such Dimension Films titles as "Youth in Revolt" and "6 Billion Dollar Man." This afternoon we got our hanRAB on the full press release that tipped off that the remake of David Cronenberg's Scanners, Piranha 3D and Scream 4 (!) are also included in the deal. Read on for the full release! More details forthcoming. Where do you guys think they should take the franchise? Any ideas?

With their track record,you guys are being very optimistic expecting Scream 4 to be any good.
Personally,I never expect great (or good) quality to come from Dimension films and the Weinstein co,the same production company behind heaven knows how many turkeys.
This is same studio that made Halloween 6 and Hellraiser 4 :eek:
 
At the end of the 3rd film they left the door open in a showrt clip which made it obvious that they were going to do anbother one, i love scream, and ill be old enough to see it in the cinema yay!
 
i still think this wil only work if the oringal makers cast come back.

because scream was a horror about the character of sidneys story.

as opposed to
nightmare- nancy was just another victim on his list for freddy.

friday- jasons mother stalked all the councilers.

halloween-jamie was the unluckybabysitter(was never his sister in part 1 alot of people forget that.

and what now scream4 will just start again with a whole new girl na cant see it working.

i would love to see this if craven and williamson and the 3 main cast come back though
 
no member at ther end sidney didt put all the locks on the door and the wind blew it open but sid didt close it she just LEFT IT OPEN...............................:D

or the real reason i think for it was sid was not afraid anymore so she was hapy to just leave it
 
i love everything about the final 15mins of scream3 the music the closeup of the characters storys i would hate to see it all ruined for a cash in sequal.

but this is hollywood so if theres money there to be made they flippen do it.
i think the slasher craze will catch on again soon its been awhile since we had a good decent NON REMAKE SLASHER
 
I hope the same two characters are back. I loved all three movies although the third was slightly poorer than the other two. they should rework it a little, perhaps not focusing of Sidney so much, with it being a copycat or something.
 
neeRAB something different as the world has moved on the scream mask has been done to death on other things as well.

not sure if they left it too late really, but i do love the scream movies got all 3 on dvd and had to sneak into the cinema to see the 2nd one as i wasnt old enough.

still if they move it on with new charactors and as stephanie2007 said make it about copycat killers.

maybe bring back gale weathers and dewey
 
Wasn't the whole point of Scream 3 that it was the concluding part of a trilogy, and different rules applied to it compared to being just another sequel?
 
I am not sure I understand the article.

Are they going to be made for TV films for Showtime or does it mean Showtime will have first dibs on them after the cinema/DVD release?
