Scream 4 coming soon (been confirmed)

hmm if they can do a twist and take saga in ot a new angle it might work, but if not it will be: guess which 0f the 3 leaRAB will die movie again. yawn

The problem is assuming they can sign up the original cast again, it will only be the secondary characters that get bumped off. Sidney can't die - she's the heroine. Gail Weathers seemingly can't die either - she's been pitched as a tough nut that can't be cracked. Finally if Dewey was supposed to die he would he been by now the number of times he was attacked in the first three films. By bumping off recurring characters like Randy and Cotton, they really have no-one left.

If Neve Campbell is in the whole film and it has a decent storyline it would be worth watching but if it is a brand new cast I woudn't bother with it. They should also find a way to bring back the original killers from the first film cos they were the best ones.

I would say that's impossible, but they managed to bring Michael Myers back from the dead for Halloween: Resurrection, so who know's what's possible.

Really I think the only way to do it would be have it set on the 10th anniversary of the first murders (thus giving the killer(s) a motive), and have it as some kind of copycat. The end of Scream 3 so neatly tied everything up, and I don't know if there's any more in depth way of linking it to the first three films.

I very much doubt that this film will ever actually happen. They may well be planning it, but that's a million miles away from it going into production.

The Scream franchise worked very well and was responsible for putting the horror genre back on the map. However, horror has moved on from the 'pretty teen slasher' area and is far darker and more sinister. It won't be enough now to have a bunch of Dawson's Creek clones running around getting stabbed with a Scooby Do 'it was the caretaker' climax.

They would have to now parody the likes of Saw, Hostel, Wolf Creek etc and that would make it difficult for them to keep it linked with the first 3 films. What you'll be left with is a film that is so far removed from the others, that there's little point in giving it the Scream title.

I don't think getting Campbell etc on board would be too hard - they've hardly got glittering movie careers at the moment, but you'll know it's bad if they see a script and turn it down!

Having said all this, I'd much rather they do a new movie then remake any old classics.
