omg i can't wait for scream 4. anyway in a interview wes craven said scream 4 will be coming soon also he said neve campbell who played sidney prescot will be returning in the 4th.

Well considering how the Scream movies got progressively worse after every installment with 3 being crap, I don't think it's a good idea to make a 4th. I mean where could you take the idea now? Sydney get's stalked yet again? What are the chances of that happening 4 times in one girls life. It started off really well, a refreshing change to see a slasher not take itself seriously. Then they started getting too serious and that's when it fell apart.

Edit: Also read there that they are making Red-eye 2? WTF, how will that work? Is she going to get back on a plane and attacked by someone else, again? Lame!

Hows about Neve goes dolally after spending most of her life with various ghostfaces trying to kill her, so she gets pissed off and starts doing the killing herself. heh theyd never see that coming. Actually that would be crap. Forget it.

This was on Empire website about Scream 4:

"Quick, the '90s are coming, the '90s are coming, and they're wearing a weird mask. On the company's official blog, The Weinstein Company has announced that Scream 4 is definitely going to happen, eight years after the last film was in cinemas. The post said:

"The fans have been asking for a 4th Scream movie for years and we're finally giving it to them. As far as details go, we're only in the planning stages and we may not get around to it [Scream 4] for quite some time, but rest assured, it will happen."

One the one hand: Woo-Hoo! The Scream series was one of the best horror series ever. That is until part 3, which was very disappointing and took the clever observation and irony of the first two films and made something completely non-frightening and lazy. Which leaRAB us to that fidgety, clammy other hand: Oh dear. Picking up so long after the last film and announcing the movie before a script exists makes us worry that this is just a cash-in on the brand recognition.

This could be interesting, in a Halloween H2O kind of way, if it picked up with Sidney, Gail et al nearly a decade after they were terrorised by the man in the Munch mask. Would Sidney be a gibbering mental case? Would Dewey still have a limp? Would Gail have even stripier hair and more muscular arms? But for now The Weinstein Co says none of the cast are signed.

"We've just entered the planning stages of Scream 4. There isn't even a script right now. Only time will tell."

Not sure what to say really. I really enjoyed the Scream Trilogy - although I do agree Scream 3 was noticably weaker than the first two. On the one hand, new additions to a series, particularly in horror, have often been fairly weak. On the other hand sometimes additions to the series can actually work, and can even sometimes be better than the films that went before them. American Pie: The Naked Mile is far superior to American Pie: The Wedding. On balance I think I'd like to see Scream 4 made.

A Scream 4 is utter pointless as the franchise which mocked horror movies is now a cliche in itself due to countless clones & Spoof horror's.
A third was pushing it,but a fourth

I wish Dimension would keep away from horror movies altogether at times after screwing up the latest Halloween & running the Hellraiser franchise into the ground.

Wash your mouth out with soap! (or wash your fingers for typing it...whatever, lol), American Pie: The Wedding was the last good American Pie movie, mainly due to the original cast being involved, after that the franchise just died. I recently watched The Naked Mile and in my opinion it was absolutely terrible, i didn't laugh once...I mean, come on, the whole midget football thing was just terribly unfunny, and it lasted for about 15 minutes...

Anyway, as for Scream 4, i hope it never gets past the planning stages, i love the trilogy and own the boxset on DVD, but a fourth film just sounRAB like overkill (that said, i thought the same about Die Hard 4.0 when it was announced, but i actually really enjoyed that).

although i cant say i'm overly excited about this film, i'm not completely 'anti' the idea like most people seem to be. it has been long enough since the last movie and it would be quite interesting to see a reunion of the surviving characters. provided it isnt one these straight to video sequels i'm sure it could be quite entertaining (and look at it this way, at least they are not turning it into another bloody remake)

One of the reasons I didn't like AP: The Wedding was it was only some of the original cast. I do admit AP: Band Camp was as dire as sequels come, but I though The Naked Mile was generally pretty funny.

Back to Scream 4, I'm not sure how they will manage to start a new storyline, but still have it linked to the original. The end of Scream 3 more or less tied everything up - although Scream 2 was only very tenuosly linked into that. Unless they just go for a straight copy-cat type story, but I can see that being a really weak story. If it comes to pass, they are going to somehow have to find a way to link it into the previous films - I don't envy them trying to find a workable way of doing it though.

I liked the trilogy (and thought three wasn't all that bad!) but I don't want a fourth one to ruin it. And them to mess up with the brilliance of the trilogy

That said, I would still watch it :p
