I enjoyed the program too, it has a sense of unity, despite the different music cuts. What's noticeable, in comparison to last season, is that this SD leaves much more room for creativity, since the rhuraba pattern is so short. Can't wait to see what T & S will come up with. It may be too soon to hope they'll be debuting one of their new programs at ATS, right?

IA they are so loud and you can feel the energy of the crowd in the stadium. It's so nice to see a sold out ice show too.

I love the music choices!
I agree that the music selection doesn't have to mean juniorish. At the beginning of the UofC season there was lots of hand-wringing from the V/M fans about how silly the music was and how not appropriate for Scott and Tessa and a whole bunch of other gloomy predictions about it. And look how that turned out, and Tessa was still a teenager!
Tessa and Scott are a very mature ice dance team. I don't expect anything juniorish from them at all.

Just watched more videos with P-B and W-P latin dance lessens. Tessa and Scott really changed this ice dance world. Before skaters didnt pay a lot off attantion to really latin dance moves. But now all want to move there hips, like Tessa and Scott did
And look, like this will be hard work for P-B.
And during P-B practice some latin moves on ice, we could see Hubbel-Donahiu skate there SD. They look so powerfull and fast - suprise for me.

Thank you to everyone who posted pictures, videos, and links to ATS! Although, after catching up on the entire event in the last hour or so, my brain is possibly leaking out my ears with information overload. Eh, they're worth it. So much cuteness, I have too many comments. I must restrain.

Well, I'm just guessing, but I think the program will mostly be ballroom-based, with an old-time feel and lots of little character touches. A mix of comedy and sophistication. So nothing earth-shatteringly different, but still exploring new things ie playing characters, comedy/light-hearted feel,etc. Although I'm rather intrigued by your idea of contemporary choreography to this music. It's possible. I hope they give an interview at some point to provide additional details on their programs.

Absolutely. The circular no-touch step sequence is the requirement I'm most interested in seeing this season. More so than anything, insofar as the SD goes, I'm looking forward to watching what Scott and Tessa come up with, because they're going to absolutely rock the rhuraba. In comparison to some of the other CRAB, the steps aren't all that complex, but the dance is all about rhythm and quality, smooth, deep driving edges in unison, and sensuality. It's so totally in Tessa and Scott's (very extensive) wheelhouse they'll likely put on a clinic out on the ice.

I was rather fond of it myself. The moves they've incorporated are, at least to my notice, quite unusual for ice dance, and as a team they've really got excellent musicality. I thought they also did a smooth job of blending the rhuraba pattern into the larger program.
One note -- they did receive a 5-point deduction for the split lift here, due to Anastasia's exceeding 180 degrees.

I agree that it has the potential to come across as junior-ish, and theatrical programs aren't my personal favorite, but I'd also like to think that Marina wouldn't create a program that doesn't challenge Tessa and Scott and/or give them the opportunity to do amazing things on the ice. In fact, perhaps the brilliance of this program will be that upon first hearing the music, everyone will assume they're getting something very campy and junior-ish and yet, as the program plays out, find they were mistaken. I mean, who knows. I can see why there is confusion regarding the music selection, simply based on the programs Tessa and Scott have presented over time and their desire to keep pushing the sport forward. Perhaps Marina and Igor are encouraging their teams to do lighter and/or more character-driven pieces this season just to change things up a bit. Or maybe Tessa has wanted to skate to this music for years and finally got her wish, heh.

For me this is funny, that Tessa wish to use music from movie with Odry since she were junior. Maybe now i am happy Marina were so IN work with them before OG and we saw brilliant Mahler and PF and my favorite waltz triste. Now look, like she gave freedom to them. But this music choice for FD remind me B-A "Thats intertaiment", wish they need to change during season and this dance didnt bring them any good result.

It's not up yet; I've been checking regularly, heh. When I was looking back at discussion from All That Skate LA, I noticed that the program was up about ten days before the actual show, so, really, we're overdue by this point.
