Hey everyone. 24 year old male here. I just got back from my GP's office, and basically I've been having this popping sensation on the right side of my rib cage, sometimes by my sternum, sometimes down further toward my back. My GP looked at me and noticed that I had a mild case of scoliosis in my upper back that leans more toward the right. He's referring me to a physical specialist to look at it. I won't get to see her for another 3 or 4 weeks though, so in the meantime...Would scoliosis cause rib pain/popping? And could it just appear over time in your mid 20's? Any answers would be appreciated.

I would imagine that the scoliosis has been there for awhile, and progressing. The ribs shift in relation to the spine , and can rub together. Your Dr is sending you to a Physical Therapist to do excersizes to stabelize the weak areas of your spine (actually muscles) and stop the spine from getting worse.

Thanks for the reply fusepro. i guess that would make sense. never really had any issues with it until about a month or so ago. I work on a computer most of the day so I'm wondering whether or not my posture at my desk has contributed to this stuff.
