scion tc or mazda 3?

i dont know which one to get. (both 2009)
i like the way the mazda drives. and it has 4 doors... it will last longer. (last car my parents are buying me so i need it to last for a long long long time) only downside... i dont like the interior color that comes with the exterior color i want. and its kinda plain old car nothing special.

i love the way the scion looks and it has more standard options. and it has the toyota reliability. only downside... it has two doors (not sure if it is that big of a deal or not... my current car has 4 doors so i havent had a problem with that) and it doesnt seem to drive smoothly. (like i can feel all the bumps in the road and stuff)

i am going off to college next year.
i am not good at making decisions. and this is a very important one that i need to get opinions from everyone.
i have talked to my parents who believe that either one would be good. and i have looked at several reviews online and they all seem to be around the same.
please help.

Mazda. Scions are made cheap and it shows after your warranty runs out. You'll have more problems (both cosmetic and in the engine) with this car than a Mazda for sure.
 
hm. thast a hard one. Under your position, i would wait till the end of the year to buy a new car.

As of right now, i'd choose the Mazda 3 over the Scion tC. The Scion has a NO HAGGLE price policy, meaning that whatever the sticker price is, your stuck paying it in full. It's also bumpy, as you mentioned, and the two door sports coupe style means that your going to pay more in insurance than you would with the mazda.

The Mazda is a really sporty car, and the interior is pretty great if you upgrade it a bit, and the sound system is superb. The thing is, they are releasing a new body style in late 2009, which you may want more than the current model.

Have you also looked into the Honda Civic? its a beautiful car.

Go American, buy a Chevy, Dodge, Buick, or even a ford. Noone needs foreign cars
 
the scion tc is a piece of junk because they aren't reliable and the body isn't very strong. only good thing is there are probably more parts for the tc than the mazda 3..
 
I would go all the way to the Mazda.. The color thingy can always be corrected later with personal touches.
I strongly believe Mazda is the right choice. They are the perfect combination of a safe reliable practical sedan with all the sportiness and agility of 2 door coupes...
