i have a year 9 science IAA on physics tomorow.the subjects are ohms law, LDR (light dependant resistor), and seperating crude oil. the test isnt long, but you basically have to explain the experiments... know what an independant, dependant, and controlled variables are, and how you would do your own experiment on these, also how you would tell if the tests are reliable and valid.

pleeassee help.

Independent variable - what you changed.
Dependent variable - what you measured.
Control variables - anything that you kept constant so that it did not affect the results. Maybe voltage, or length of wire.
Reliable - nowadays this seems to mean "did you repeat it and get similar results".

Sorry, I don't know of a consensus definition of " valid. "I would think it valid if;

You changed one variable,
Kept others constant,
Repeated the experiment & checked that the results were similar ...

but I don't teach you !
