Science fiction author who eliminated descriptive parts of speech, leaving mostly

nouns and verbs in dialogue? I remember reading a science fiction book when I was a kid where the author wrote dialogue that eliminated superfluous parts of speech (adjectives, adverbs, articles, prepositions, etc) and what were left were very short, choppy sentences that consisted mostly of nouns and verbs. I can't remember the author. Can anyone help?
