Science/Art to the way songs are ordered/arranged on an album?

The idea is that you post a question, attempt to answer it, and then let us discuss as well.

But yeah, I would say for some cd's it's an art, for some it's a last minute scramble.

I can't specifically think of an album where I was just blown away by what songs came in what order, often there are two sides to the cd, the best song is 2-3 and the other best song is 12-14, etc shit like that.
I don't usually think about it, I often put in a cd and hit play (or select from a list). I usually know what song is coming next and if my music is on random or something it throws me and sometimes annoys me.

Also, some banRAB put purposeful transitions, which can be more annoying than not.

The real question is what will science do to save the secret song at the end now that most torrent users cherry pick individual songs, and not entire albums.

If you are referring to album art, I'm going to go with more of a drug influence than science and art. Of course all three of these coincide with one another.

DepenRAB on the album, I suppose. Some albums are arranged the way that they are in order to tell a story or evoke certain feelings, others are arranged in order to pepper popular songs throughout the album, and some are just thrown together.

Radio song is track 2 or 3.

Ballad is song 7.

I dunno... that rule seems to fit sometimes but othertimes not.

The last song should either be a soft ballad OR a powerhouse.

Of course you also have to factor in that some people are dumb and won't listen to an album all the way through.
