Sciatica??

I have a knot in the right butt and constant pain in the calf. However, on laying down, especially on the right side, the whole leg thru to the butt is in pain, laying on the left relieves some of it but does not go away. When I get out of bed the whole leg from the butt to the calf has sharp shooting pains until I have been moving around for some time. Then I am able to move around pain free except a dull pain in the calf. Been to the chiropractor several times, some relief but not much. Any suggestions
 
it does sound like some sciatica pain yes. If this has gone on for awhile, it's time to be seen by an MD and get an MRI of your lurabar spine. It could possibly be a disc that is at issue, or you could have just be having problems with your piriformis muscle, or SI joint. Both of these sit at or on the SI nerve and can mock the exact same pains that eminate from the spine. All things to get checked out.

But the first is the spine and most logical. Then if that comes back negative, then look at SI joint and/or pirformis muscle.
