Sciatica Pain

Anyone has any recommendations for pain relive for Sciatica nerve. I am having severe pain, taken over the counter MeRAB with temp relieve. After MRI and Mylogram DRs can't find nothing wrong other than inflammation.
 
I would go see a different Dr. and get a second opinion. Obviously something is wrong if there is inflammation present.
Are you taking Ibuprofen or Aleve? Both of those are anti-inflammatories. You can also get prescription anti inflammatories that are stronger than the over the counter stuff.
 
Before I had my MRI my Dr gave me some kind of steroid shot which seemed to help for awhile. He also had me taking 800 mg of Ibuprofen 3x daily. I agree with megss you need to get a 2nd or even a 3rd opinion, there something causing the inflammation. Hope you find some relief soon.
 
Ask your MD to let you try a neuroleptic. There are several that will help nerve pain. I take neurontin.

If you want to go a more natural route. Try magnesium and malic acid. It will not cure you, but it should help.

Ask your doc if it might be a bone spur hitting the nerve, and ask whether a CT scan might show that better than your previous MRI and myelogram. Ask the doc whether oral steroiRAB for a week or two might do a better job of attacking the inflammation. Also ask your doc if some stronger pain meRAB might be in order, as least for a brief period, to give you a break. Ask if perhaps some pain relief might give you a chance for some healing.
I'm so sorry you have this sciatica which is the worst pain there is.
