The reason why I have applied to the Schulich School of Business is because I believe in thriving for excellence in whatever I do. I find Schulich is the best fit school for my area of interest and I am sure with its excellent reputation, highly educated professors and ultimately its convenient location, I will gain success in my career goals. I think if I were to study at Schulich School of business, then I would be granted with the opportunity of majoring in accounting and later perusing that major in writing the uniform evaluation test in order to be a licensed Chartered Accountant. Since Schulich is located in Toronto it will give me immense opportunity to acquire the required 51 hours of co-op work which is also a requirement for completion in order to obtain full licensing for Chartered Accountancy. I think with my strong work ethics, leadership qualities and most importantly the education obtained from Schulich School of Business, I will be successful in achieving my goal for many years in Chartered Accountancy and, I believe that with the help of the knowledge acquired from Schulich, I will be a successful Chartered Accountant.
From your own experience, please share three characteristics of a successful leader. In your life which person has demonstrated these characteristics and made a significant impact on your life? Explain.

From my own experience three characteristics of a successful leader are: responsibility, perseverance and altruistic. In my life, the person who has demonstrated these characteristics, and has made a significant impact on my life is my mother. My mother is a woman who will tackle down any walls that come her way because she is so eager to see what is on the other side, and never accepts failure to be loss but accepts it as a form of motivation, she takes full responsibility for her actions and learns from all her mistakes, and she always demonstrates an altruistic character because she is consistent in giving generously and helps out within our community. My mother is also a very good teacher because she has taught me to follow in her footsteps. As a leader she always has people following her role and people generally look up to her for advice, decisions and ultimately life altering decisions. Of course, living with a role model like my mother, I begin to implement her leadership skills into myself. I have learnt the necessity of being responsible and that is because you have to be held accountable for your own actions because no one else is going to pay your price for you. I have managed to persevere when times get tough and never give up because I am so concentrated to see what is waiting for me past the temporary downfall which is unimportant. Lastly, I have learnt the skill of being altruistic, by being involved in my community, whether it is through donating money to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Helping raise money for Pakistan or even helping out at a local senior home. If I have learnt how to be a good person overall through demonstrating these important leadership characteristics, then others will surely follow. This is all thanks to the teachings of my mother.
