School reputation ruined because of history lesson.?

So we're studying WW2 at the moment and most of the students considers the Nazis the very definition of evil. All of them.

I tried to make the understand that it's not as black and white as it seems. I spoke in defense of the Nazis and now apparently they consider me to be a "monster" for supporting them.

I simply believe that saying all Nazis were evil is just pure insanity. It's very uneducated to say that they were all monsters who deserve death.

How can I fix my reputation with my school and class?

Schindler's List. Though the movie is a fictionalized account of Oskar Schindler's activities concerning Jews, it would be a good starting point Schindler himself was indeed a Nazi, but he is remembered today more for his efforts towards saving the Jews who worked for him during the Holocaust. He's also the only member of the Nazi party to be buried in Isreal today. Begin with Schindler and the movie, pointing out that he was a Nazi who did not follow the entire party line. Then point out that their were other Nazis who were like Schindler, they only really joined the party for buisness benifits but did not nescisarily agree with everything the party stood for.
