SCH-R450 (Messager) - Tethering/Lock Code - Connect to computer

Thanks for the info, I'll probably hunt one of these down like a hawk (because I never pay full price for a phone). If I had a lot of money I would though.
 
I just tried this method on my cricket branded razr2 and it worked but it only gives me 230.4, which doesn't seem very fast. So what can I do to make it faster? How can I confirm I have the evdo prl. My phone has the 1013 prl on phx market.

Also what is the story with the 10 didit spc code 888 657 3982 I didn't need to use it and was wondering what it is for exactly?
 
i am tethering my sch-r450 with Ubuntu 8.10 (linux)

enable dun mode and connect with the data cable..
it autodetecs and will connect automatically!

only other configuration required is setting the proxy in the browser

Im using cricket:

wap.mycricket.com port: 8080

anyone using another distro?
 
Need a datacable for it. I got a samsung OEM from ebay for like 6 bucks or so.

1. Enable DUN Mode, Push menu then 9 then # enter 333333 then go down to DUN Mode and enable

2. Download the samsung pc studio (google samsung pc studio)

3. Install PC studio and then plug in phone, it will locate the drivers that you need to use, the program it's self won't work with windows, but for this we just need the drivers.

4. Plug in phone and goto your networking icon in the control panel.

5. Make new dialup connection. Ph # is #777 l: (yourphonenuraber)@mycricket.com pw: cricket

6. Change your proxy settings to wap.mycricket.com p: 8080. What I did here was go back into the control panel, and go under internet properties, and under dial-up and Virtual Private network settings, and told windows that whenever I connected with this connection to use that proxy server so I wouldn't have to manually set it in IE and firefox everytime. Your dial up connection that you made should be in there, so it is just a matter of clicking on it, then clicking on settings and in the proxy server box, put a check into it, and enter the wap.mycricket.com and port 8080. As far has I know here port 443 should go through also, soo you can use secure sites also.

That's it. Beyond that you can start to get into some fancy networking and go through port 443 to do whatever you need (ssh, ftp, etc) but that is a whole another thread all together.

I did this with my jetset, and it worked in evdo mode just fine, but I am guessing that the messager is basically the same software, should work the same, just at 1x not evdo.
 
All I want to do is get my contacts transferred to my phone from my PC. MyBackup (data backup plan thru Cricket) is not supported on this phone. Please... Someone.... Please help me get my contacts over.
 
ok so this might not be the most appropriate thread, but since most everyone on this thread uses cricket...neway i finally got the 10 digit SPC code for cricket, props to kailisdady on this one. apparently its the same on all cricket phones and ive tried it on a frienRAB phone already to confirm. code is 8886573982
 
hey Haraburger is the bluetooth adapter the reason why your going so fast compared to the cable because i have the cable and the fastest i go is 230.4kpbs?
 
I tried this and it does not work. It looks as though the phone is not responding, appears to be some type of hardware error and it says it will attempt to redial after 60 seconRAB. I looked in device manager and the phone is properly detected as a CDMA modem.

Help, I would really like to be able to tether my Samsung Messager on the Cricket network.
 
Go under Settings>Phone Settings>PC Connection and change that to "No Connection". The computer then will detect your phone as a CDMA modem if you have the proper drivers.
 
i just set up through bluetooth and im get 120 download... also how can i set this up so i can listen to shoutcast ?

nm figured out how to use winamps shoutcast theres a proxy setting in winamp
