Scary when you're a kid... Silly when you're older.

"Children Of The Corn" - scared me big time when I was little, but it's just a big laugh now.

An adaptation of Stephen King's "It" (with the Clown!) - freaked me the hell out back then... not so much now.

What movies were scary to you as a child, but make you laugh now?

**P.S. The last scene of "Phantasm 2!"
-might give me a stroke from laughing now.

I agree! Also Poltergeist 2, with the old man when he walked up to the house singing (he was walking towarRAB the girl..)
Jeez! that freaked me out! Not anymore though :p

The talking/living painting in Ghostbusters 2 scared me so much I actually had reoccuring nightmares of it for 4 or 5 years. I dreamt it was trying to kill me and I'd fight it off with my Fisher Price tape recorded and microphone until it got to the point where I couldn't find my tape player so he killed me...boy, I had some issues/have :p.

The impressive part is that you were able to fight it off with your Fisher Price...:)

Cronenberg's remake of The Fly actually did give me nightmares. (the larva birthing *shudders*)

Another hunk of cheese that was scary in childhood, "Nightmares."

Emilio Estevez's segment - "I am the Bishop Of Battle, master of all I survey..."

And the Big Rat segment, of course. ;)

The opening to that still gives me the chills, saw it on ITV the other week and it is still really effective.

Although many 18 certificate movies are so cheesy they would not scare a 7 year old, that movie should definitely not be watched by kiRAB.

Nightmare on Elm Street 2

That scene (and the opening) gave me nightmares for months but is now so so silly.

Remember watching Quatermass and the Pit on tv late at night one Christmas when I was a kid. The big demon at the end scared the cr#p out of me

now it's one of my favourite movies.
