Yes. The new director said he didn't want to make "gross jokes". He wanted a funny, PG13 spoof.

I thought three was better than two, but neither were as good as the first one. Im sure the 4th will be funny, but not as much as the first one. I think they also should have waited a bit longer. Needed more movies to parody to come out so they have better material.
 
I think they should quit while they're ahead. I didn't see SM3 & thought SM2 was pure crap on a stick! Why doesn't Hollywood ever learn? Whyyyyy??
 
lol its funny when they make fun of hollow man, and the girl is sleeping, and he looks at the girls underwear, then its the wrong date...then i think you know what happens:lol:

and also, when 'shorty' is watching tv, and then his plant comes alive, and rolls him up, then smokes him:lol: thats my favourite part:lmao:
 
Like the rest of you probably agree, I think that they should do a Scary Movie 4 if they bring the Wayan brothers back. Their the ones that actually made the first one good and the second one 'okay' to watch. I could not stand the third installment of the movie and I was under the influence at the time, so that's saying a lot.
 
I think they should make a Scary Movie 4- I think they just get better and better. The first two were annoyingly perverted, but the third one was really really clever- which was awesome!
 
I liked the first one and the third one, but two was total crap. I don't know why they havn't spoofed Freddy, Jason, or Michael Myers yet.

The thing is, as you (or the article) stated is that the problem would be getting the licence to those characters to spoof because even doing paradies sometimes includes getting express permission from the actual creators, especially if they are still alive.

With all the new super hero movies still being made and set to come out like "Catwoman" and possibly the fifth "Batman" movie as well as a new "Superman" (if it ever gets out of development hell)... That throws a huge monkey wrench into the David Zucker's ("Airplane" movies) plans.

I find them all funny. And if they wanna carry on I say go ahead nothing to loose. People will still watch.
 
Umm I liked all three but the third one was forced. It just felt like too much at once. The first one was great, I loved the second one, and this one was funny but ... I mean it just sees like it ran dry. Nothing really left to spoof. It will seem forced and contrived. I wouldn't see it.
 
Scary Movie 3 was supposed to mock LOTR, Harry Potter, etc but it didn't. I'm glad this one picks up the idea somehow. I hope it's drop dead hilarious!
 
I was against making a 4th scary movie(the 2nd was just OK and the third kinda sucked) until i read this at darkhorizons.com today...

The third "Scary Movie" finally premiered in the UK recently and radio station employee 'Addie' talked with the cast on the red carpet about what they're up to next:

"Anna Faris told me that she's signed to do Scary Movie 4 but "they want this one to concentrate on all the comic book superhero movies like Batman, Superman, X-men and so on, and I think there might be some trouble convincing the people in charge of those characters to let them be used for the movie - especially because they're going to be spoofing them - like having Charlie Sheen playing superman and all that

Apparently some of the cast from Scary Movie 3 are signed for four, including Sheen, Regina King and Leslie Nielsen. Faris said everyone, except her, will be playing new characters. Anna said that David Zucker and Pat Proft are doing the new one, and that it'll be going into production hopefully in the Fall.

As for her next movie, she told me that the Wayans brothers are doing a new movie called "White Chicks" with Busy Phillips and Britney Daniels. She'd like to work with them again one day she said, maybe if they come through on a promise that she gets a role in the "White Chicks" sequel.

I asked her if she'd ever like to do a superhero movie herself one day and she said that she'd love to, but the only person she could envision herself playing because she has the right look is lois lane and was convinced that the role had already been taken".

im not sure i'll see this one. this one is about superheros...not scary movies. isn't the point of the series to spoof horror films? i dont know why they did this one on superheros:shrug:
 
I honestly never thought they should have went on making any others beyond the first film. SM2 had too many of the same jokes it had from the first film and was not all that funny (More gross!) and the third was just O.K.

If there is a fourth I am pretty sure it'll make money but after seeing two and three I will not see another Scary Movie. They should just let it go. Sort of like Mike Myers should do with Austin Powers.
 
The problem with doing another SM right NOW...

Is that the horror/thriller trend of the late '90s -- When Scream and others came out -- is OVER.

That's exactly why they're switching to just parodyiing general pop-culture references like 8 Mile and The Matrix... Because those aren't genre specific.

This is why I don't think a fourth one will do that well... And I have a sneak feeling that it will be a direct-to-DVD release if they decide to greenlight it.
 
I really liked #1, #2 was quite funny and more outrageous. Kinda mized feelings, but mostly, y'all don't want a SM4. I need to see SM3, shame about the Wayan's not being in it
