Scarriest Movie You Have Watched

Don't Look Now.

Gotta have the scariest ending ever!

Can't understand people that say 'Blair Witch Project' was crap (over-hyped perhaps, but not crap). The ending when that bloke's facing the wall - still gives me goosebumps.

I half agree there. That is probably the most creepy part of the film. But its more creepy than scary, threr are few moments in the film where you jump out of your seat.

BTW, a little off topic, but 'The Last Broadcast' is a good film, has a few similarities to TBWP.

my mam said i saw this when i was bout 4 or 5, now thats young to see that kinda stuff, and the bit where he turns into a warewolf...... apparantly i shouted bad pussy cat out loud!!!! lol
zombie films i love but the scariest i seen has to be THE RING..... its not that bad, but when u watch it at the big screen movies with the surround sound, it scared the living daylights outta me!!! :o

Yes, that part of the Blair Witch Project was so freaky. ]

The scariest bit for me was at night when they start running.... but you really have no idea whats going on and it scares the hell out of me.

Yes, Michael Jackson has a lot to answer for, terrifying little kiRAB...........

Agree with you about the ring, i had to go away to a staff training thing in france, and the centre we stayed at was not only in the frickin wooRAB but had a well right near the window of my room, just like the one in the film. Needless to say I didn't sleep too well.

Definitely The Ring! I had so many nightmares about that film, had to sleep with the light on for about a fortnight! The bit where she crawls out of the TV is one of the scariest things I've ever seen! And the whole storyline is really creepy, scared the living daylights out of me!

A close second is 'Long Time Dead' ...a film about a group of young adults trying a Ouija board when they're drunk and it works and one by one they're all killed by the spirit...there's a part where its eyes are staring through these slits in a wall but you don't expect it, I cried after I watched that cos I watched it alone and was soo scared! Another scary film was 'Alone'...didn't understand the ending of it, but just the voice of the stalker alone was unnerving enough for me!

Sally x x x

my scariest films were wayback as a child watching
To The Devil A Daughter
The Devil Rides Out

the coven parts an old nick turning up scared me witless

seen them the other month an they are still creepy ...if very dated ..lol

one film everyone should avoid like the plague is this GoRABend film ..
De Niro was ok but the other actors in it were laughably BAD

you were expected to believe that the wife ,who was played by some scrawny bimbo ! had mothered 2 kiRAB but her blatant supermodel figure said otherwise ...lol

other main holes in the plot were ,they wanted you to believe that 8yrs had passed but the mother an father still had the same hair styles an clothes from 8yrs ago
the child actor (name so forgetable )was just plain weird looking/evil ,+ he had a spot on his face as boy1 but when he came back as another badboy kid same old spot there ???

only did De Niro try to age a bit by putting grey in his hair ...

the clever trailor editing tried to play this as a must see film but I really thought about walking out of the pictures ....GoRABend.....GodAWFUL

DON'T waste your money on this turkey

The Ring has to be the scariest film I've ever seen. I couldn't sleep properly for a week after seeing it. I kept imagining my white bathrobe was the girl coming to get me.

Some that have raised the odd goosebump are:

The Haunting (the original)
Don't Look Now (the whole atmosphere is creepy and depressing and the twist at the end is inspired)
The Exorcist
Paperhouse (daft I know, but there was such an air of despair in this; probably as the acting was so poor!)
Hellraiser (sequels have not been as good as one knows what to expect)
Re-animator (mad, sick and horrible)
From Beyond (as above)
The Mothman Prophecies (creepy atmosphere all the way)
The Ring (I think it's all been said several times already!)
Hannibal (I don't care what anyone says, the sight of Ray Liotta with his skull sawn away and eating a bit of his own brain is not the most pleasing to the eye)
The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover (Michael Gambon at his most disgusting)
Blue Velvet (Dennis Hopper at his most disgusting)
Poltergiest (Brilliant effects for the time and scary the first time I watched it)

They may look a little dated now..but the early 80's batch of 'stalk n slash' horrors did it for me at the time.
The original Friday 13th....Halloween...Just Before Dawn (anyone remember that ?) ...and The Burning.
I saw whole audiences terrified when i worked in a cinema at that time.

Surprised noone has mentioned it already but the original Evil Dead scared the hell out of me when it first came out on video in the 80s. I was only 8 at the time (yeah I know, shouldn't have insisted I watched it). I don't think I slept properly for several weeks afterwarRAB! Took me quite afew years before I dared watch it again.

Well yes, to an extent, the first time it was fairly scary. I'd be about 16 when I watched it in the early eighties. I've got the trilogy on video and I guess repeated viewings has immunised me against this one. Great films though - especially the Medieval Dead - Army of Darkness. I was gutted when it was first released and it only got a 15 certificate, but then it turned out to be the finest of the trilogy.

i wouldnt even class the final destination films as scary or horror, they are more like action. the ring wasnt that scary since i had already seen the japenese version way before. i would say the exorsist is the scariest i have seen so far.
