Scariest Kids Cartoon Ever

Oh yeah, I remember that show. So many episodes used to scare me so much. Even my mom got scared from watching Are You Afraid of the Dark. The scare factor was one of the reasons I liked that show.
 
I still go with Code Lyoko. It's not scary in the sense of horror, but just because of the crap that happens, where they're like on the verge of dying or practically dead, and Jeremy has to reset everything at the end as a deus ex machina.
 
Especially in ROTJ's flashback sequence. And then there's The Scarecrow's creepy redesign were he looked like a rotted zombie who had been hanged.
 
OMG YES! That show has some really creepy stuff and I'm sure it gave plently of 4 year olds nightmares. Other than that I have to admit B:TAS was pretty creepy as a kid, mainly due to the Joker.
 
While it may not be the scariest, I believe that ?The Marvelous Misadventures Of Flapjack? deserves to be mentioned in this thread. Its content does vary from episode to episode, but some scenes are downright horrific for a children?s animated program. It has to be the darkest children?s animated program since ?Invader ZIM?, hands down.
 
Beast Machines was probably too dark and violent to be a kids cartoon, and it still blows my mind that kids were the target demographic.

But I don't know about BM being "scary" to anyone though.

The Real Ghostbusters deserves mention too. It never scared me (I was in my early teens when it aired), but my little brother would cover his eyes a lot when he tried watching it.

ZIM gets my vote too, for a series anyway. It's got Courage, Flapjack, and Billy & Mandy beat by a long shot. It's so delightfully demented and disturbing.

But Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas takes top honors for me. When I worked at Disney, I was surprised by how many parents wouldn't let their kids even watch it... some of them in middle-school, too. But it's not exactly intended for kids though.
