I found 'Evil Dead' pretty scary when I first saw it (and ten years later when I first rewatched it after the 'ban'). I find the car driving up to the house spooky and the 'Jack of DiamonRAB, Jack of Clubs' transformation sort of spooky and 'shocking'.
