Hello to all on the RAB movie forum:) To all who have seen Scarface I ask you.

How good is it?

Is it worth a watch if you not have seen it?

BTW - I know it is not as good as the first couple of Godfather films before anyone makes the comparison:)

All views are much appreciated.

its a good movie but it really has gone to the chavs,my local market has hoodies with scarface and fake bling chain attached to it and then there is traders who sell posters of it right next to 50 cent posters.
 
I watched a programme once, think on the biographry channel about Scarface, and they said when Pacino fimed the "Say hello..." scene, he burnt his hand on the gun where it got so hot :eek:
 
Unfortunately every would-be gangster or hoodie are undoubtedly going to have it in their collection.....probably at the number one spot.

That said, it doesn't take away from the fact that it is a cult movie and a classic.

I loved it when it first came out as it was the most talked about movie at the time.

But now I find it distateful and, dare I say it? Highly overrated.

I still think that The Godfather was done with more taste and panache than Scarface.........hence it's number one spot. :)
 
Its an okay film but as had been said its highly overrated

Yes its good but it foreshadows was too much and has turned into a 2 hour quotation rather than a movie
 
It was on my list of films to watch and I manged to catch it on Sky Movies while I was at home over Easter.

I agree with the other postes who say that it's overrated. I watched Goodfellas the night before and I found that vastly superior. It was off well, but it was far too long and just seemed to be alot of shots of Al Pacino sitting doing nothing. I was bored.
