i have recently been experiencing pain in my lungs/chest and have been having difficulty breathing. this has been happening for almost a week now and i am not sure what has caused this sudden pain. however, im not sure if the following incident may have contributed to the pain. i was having a sexual experience, and during this experience i held my breath before and as i orgasmed. it caused me a bit of pain in my chest. i have done this before, and it has caused only minimal pain. could this have caused damage to my lungs?

sorry just to add that my doctor told me i have a chest/airway infection, and a throat infection, but the antibiotics dont seem to be working and i didnt tell him about the orgasm incident...

You didn't say, but do you have pneumonia? I would call your doctor right away. I doubt the orgasm incident is related (though I don't know for sure, of course.) I would bet your chest pain and difficulty breathing are related to your pre-existing infection. Your doctor should review your antibiotics to be sure they are effective - sounds like they aren't. Pneumonia can often be treated quite effectively with antibiotics, but can become quite a serious threat if not treated properly.

Call your doctor right away and tell him about your increase in symptoms. It sounds like you should have a chest x-ray, and switch to a different antibiotic.

Good luck!!

thank you for your response i shall go back to the doctor . oh and i don't have pneumonia, and have never had it before. im hoping that isnt what i have though

The two things that come to mind when you say you have chest pain are pneumonia or pleuritis - neither is great, so I hope your doctor figures it out for you!

Good luck
