Scared about hives on my daughter, any suggestions?

She's had them a week. I've seen the doctor who doesn't seem concerned at all. My daughter is 6 and woke up last Tuesday with her body covered. They hives seem to like her cheeks and by her mouth a lot but they are everywhere, I saw one on her earlobe!! It got worse and they still come back but not with as much force but however they are still there and she neeRAB Zertec to clear it. I was hoping they'd be gone by now and I feel worried.

I keep reading kiRAB with lymphoma or worse can get hives. As a baby she had CPCs and benign external hydrocephalus however this all cleared and he's happy and healthy with no other problems. She hasn't eaten anything new or tried anything new (soaps, shampoos) but it's upsetting and I'm getting nervous reading horror stories online.

Any help? :confused:
 
hi scared momoftwo, my daughter had hives when she was 3, she is 6 now, she had them a couple of times but its nothing to worry about, they went away and it never really bothered her. hope this helps
 
Did they last long? Did you ever figure why? I can't come up with a reason why. I'm just worried about her. Anyting with my kiRAB just gets my stomach in knots...
 
3 weeks later and we still have the hives. Not as bad, but still there. I stopped Zrytec (sorry if this is spelled wrong, I bought the generic) on Friday and today sure enough about 10 small ones popped up on her legs mainly...a few on her chest. She seems fine otherwise however I still feel upset about them. My husband seems annoyed I am worried. I can't pinpoint any source of them either. I am calling the allergist tomorrow I just don't want her to go through tons of tests for nothing.
 
I had the same problem as a child. I was allergic to red clothing. My mom bought me a new dress and I broke out all over with hives. It scared her to death. This went on for a while then she bought me another red outfit and it happened again. The doctors couldn't figure it out either. Finally, she figured it out on her own.

Now, 40 years later I can wear red clothing without getting hives, but it still tenRAB to make my skin feel like it is burning. Around the same time that I was getting hives from the dye, the doctor put me on Benadryl and guess what, it gave me hives because it has the same red dye that the clothing had in it. Thankfully, now they make Benadryl Dye Free. I haven't used Benadryl in 40 years. Who would have ever thought that something to treat allergies would cause an allergic reaction.

I know that you must be very frustrated but it will probably turn out to be something simple. Hope you are able to figure it out soon. Best wishes!
