Hi, I had a micro discectomy on 5/05/08 it's been almost 2 months now and though I don't have the terrible muscle spasms, I'm still having the burning, stabbing, pins and needle feeling in my left leg. The doctor said I should have fealt some relief by now if the surgery was going to work. I'm really a little down about it. I had a steroid injection on 6/23/08 it's only been 3 days but I can't tell a difference.

I'm praying that things will get better, I do my exercises everyday, try to walk and do all the right things. my problem is at L4/L5. I go back to see the neruo surgeon the end of July, but I don't think she can do much right now to help me. The pain is always worse at night, usually take a muscle relaxer at night only due to they make me a little dizzy.

The doctor said from the MRI she really didn't see much other then just a little pocket of blood, and a little scar tissue but no compression. So what's causing the pain? I'm trying to deal with the best I can.

Wishing you all the Best,

Your post has been moved into a separate thread of its own. Please start a new thread to post about your own issues so that your post receives the attention it deserves.

Also chatting on someone else's thread about your own issues takes away from the original posters post which is unfair to them.

Thank you for your cooperation.

I am sorry for your pain...I know how frustrating it is. It sounRAB like you may have some permanent nerve damage. I know after my fusions/lami's, even though the compression was taken care of, some of the damage to the nerves could not be fixed and I still have that pain. My Xrays and MRI all say that my spine is open and looks good, but when I had the EMG, it noted chronic pain at the l4-5 area on my right leg.

I will keep you in my prayers and please keep us posted on how you are doing.
