Hi~
Can anyone tell me their experiences with scar tissue on their ALIF? My scar healed okay, but now there is a hardness around it, which I'm not surprised by. But I recently began having the stinging, tugging sensation about 2 inches to the right of the scar. I've been told about vitamin e oil and massaging the scar area to help break up scar tissue, but what is this tugging pain over to the right. Someone told me about their wife who had scar tissue attach to her stomach or something after a surgery on her fallopian (sp) tubes. Could this be a similiar thing? What can be done about this. Although the pain isn't constant it does grab me at times. Any input is appreciated. Thanks and have a pain reduced day....

How long ago was your surgery?
That hardness and pain faded with time with mine.
It took quite awhile.

AND ive also heard a lot of complaints like these from others, so i think its fairly normal, so I would NOT lose too much sleep thinking that something horrible is going on in there, BUT only you can judge what seems right and what seems wrong, so if it is something that really feels wrong to you, I would def get it checked out.

Good luck!

Hi There,
How long ago did you have the surgery?
Mine tummy took ages to feel normal again, months had past and I still had the hard area and the pulling sensation which got really painful if I over did things.
Its all fine now, the tissue around the scar is really soft and its all fine.
It does take our poor bodies a long time to recover from the surgery in many ways.
Take care, warmest regarRAB

Thanks for the replies and I'm sorry I forgot to put how long post op I was. I am 10 weeks post op (almost). But it is good to read your posts because you both said it seems to be normal and that you had that pulling sensation as well. Like you said, I guess it takes months. So I'm not going to worry about it. I do notice it hurts more when I over do...thanks again...

You definitly have awhile to go with that feeling then.
It is NOT a comfortable feeling, especially that tugging feeling. Its really strange, but definitly normal, and normal for a long time.
I never tried putting anything on it, so not sure about anything that will help, just time I guess??
Its almost impossible to not "overdo", as I think a lot of docs think we can relax for months after these surgeries, huh? LOL- thats NOT usually the case!
Anyway, try not to worry, it will start to get better!!!
