ScanR - Freeware Document Scanning App

Just found this on AllAboutSymbian - it's a freeware app that lets you take a picture of a document (or whiteboard or business card) and it uploads it to their website. It will also automatically email it back to you (with some processing, I suppose) as a pdf/jpg.

The best thing, too, though, is that you can fax it to someone straight from your cell. The whole process takes around 5-7 minutes.

I tried it a while back, and it worked AMAZINGLY well. I took a picture of a print out, uploaded it, it converted it to PDF, I printed it out later at home, and it looked close to 90%+ of the original quality. It looked like I had run it though a scanner. Just put it the camera on macro and steady your arm on something

yeah. As a mobile salesperson, this will come in real handy, I can have the client sign the order and immediately fax it to billing or my assistant to get the ball rolling.

Also gets me one step closer to my goal of being able to work from ANYWHERE. Now I don't need a scanner or a fax machine.

They're stored in a user account with login and everything behind a 128-bit encryption. I may not send super sensitive documents, but it's not really different than an web based e-mail account.
