Scanning a magazine into PDF

I'm trying to scan a full color sports magazine so I can save it as a PFD file so I can read it on my computer and handheld. I've tried Adobe PDF Pro using the Create PDF funcion, but the mag doesn't come out good enough to read on the computer. I've also tried Scansoft OmniPage Pro with no better luck. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

I would guess the readability has to do with the quality of the scan rather than whether you are using Adobe or Omni. When you select "From Scanner" under "Create PDF" in Adobe, check the resolution settings your scanner is set to. The higher the res the better the quality and readability.

Thanks, thingdriver. You nay well be right. I was using Adobe Pro 6 to get the images from the scanner, Adobe Pro 6 used the Microtek scanner program. I then started scanning with Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 export from scanner option. Photoshop Album 2.0 does not use the scanner program, but it's own scanner program with it's own resolution settings. That has seemed to make the quality and readability much better. Thanks for your input. Have a nice day.
