Say I want to get into the Rock culture, anyone willing to tell me where I should start?

This is no joke... I never see whats so good about Rock music by itself, but only an influence in hiphop. Im mostly just a UGHH(Underground HipHop) listener and I want to know the rock equivalent maybe from someone whos on both sides. Or an Independent Rock listener and any science anyone wants to drop Im all eyes and ears or 1/2 and 1/2... something like that.

Well John S, 1st of all thanks, but what Ive learned from hiphop is that it can have any influence and most of the songs have samples in them. If it wasnt for hiphop I wouldnt have heard The Animals- San Franciscan Nights before or The Beattles- Strawberry Fields Forever.
 
There's nothing wrong with where you are at all. in fact, it's reverse for me. I started out with rock, and now im working my way to underground rap. since you have the internet, all you have to do is learn the origins of rock and it's subgenres, and listen to the sounds. you may not like it, or you may. it really doesn't matter. rock is a lifestyle all about freedom.
